David George Hay
84 years old from Richmond, B.C.
Passed away surrounded by family after a lengthy illness on August 25, 2017 in the Richmond General hospital.
Born in Port Alberni, B.C. Dave was a retired mechanical engineer, well known in the forest industry since 1959 and an accomplished artist. He will be fondly missed by family and friends and live on through his artwork (water colour, acrylic & encaustic paintings) and in our memories.
Survived by his wife Lily, family Laurie, Carolyn, Nick, Kaitlyn, siblings Frank, Barry, Diane, Rod and numerous relatives. Predeceased by his father Young Wing Hay, mother Josephine Harris and son Ron Hay.
Dave’s last wishes were for no memorial service, donations greatly appreciated to Heart & stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association or Richmond General Hospital in lieu of flowers. We wish to thank everyone for the kindness and care shown by friends, family, doctors, hospital staff and care givers.

We never think that the people you love will someday not be there. Often we postpone a visit or just a phone call to say hello, how are you. It is difficult to lose the sadness we feel and time never lets us forget. I cherish the moments we shared during our short time. I will always miss my brother Dave and keep the memories of the times we shared together. Until we meet again on the other side…
