Eileen Catherine Mattioli (nee Deery) B.S.N., aged 34 years of Sarnia, Ontario passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family after an enduring battle with cancer on May 6, 2019. Admired sister of Patrick Deery Jr., Luanne Deery (nee Watt) and Erin Deery. Cherished by her grandparents Patrick Deery, Eileen Deery (nee Kerlin), Norman Thompson and Verna Thompson (nee Robbins). She was a dedicated aunt to Aibhlinn, Eilidh, Caoimhe, Payton, Liam and Patrick Deery. She will be fondly remembered by her childhood friends, Vancity family, ER family and Powderhound family. Eileen took great joy in the outdoors, her work as an emergency room nurse at Vancouver General Hospital and showing the world to Tegan. She was a weekend warrior who turned to a cancer warrior.
Friends will be received for a funeral May 10, 2019 at 10:00 am at The Old Catholic Church of B.C., 715 E 51st Avenue, Vancouver. A memorial will be held at a later date in Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to small cell ovarian cancer research via Justin Mattioli.
