It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Molly King, age 84, at Vancouver General Hospital on January 21, 2021, surrounded by her family. She is the beloved and devoted wife of Joey, loving mother of Jonathan (Helena), Marlene (Denver), Paul and Nicholas (Susan), and doting grandmother to Daniel (Shirin), Jeremy, Caitlin, Connor, Alex and Maxine.
Molly also leaves behind her dear siblings Jane, Leonard (June), Michael (late Sheena), David (Elise), Joey, sister-in-law Joyce (late Manley), her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and is predeceased by her siblings Alice, Phyllis, Seamus, Gilbert, Aubrey and Peter.
Molly had a zest for life and was filled with contagious energy. She enjoyed aerobics, line dancing and participating in numerous fun runs, especially during her retirement. She also enjoyed knitting, baking and cooking. Molly was outgoing and effervescent, and loved meeting people. She had a genuine compassion for others. Her warmth, gentleness, caring nature, and generosity endeared her to all she met.
Molly is deeply missed by her family, but we are comforted by the rich life she lived, knowing that she is now resting peacefully.
A Catholic Requiem Mass was held for Molly on January 29, 2021. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in memory of Molly King to Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital Foundation, or to a local charity of your choice.
