It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, and friend Ronald “Ronnie” Bertuzzi. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Georgina Giacinta (nee DiDomenico), his sister Joanne (Dan) Bell, and his children Elizabeth (Stephan) and Anthony (Pam). He was a fun-loving and supportive “Nono” to his adoring grandchildren Christian, Lauren, Aiden and Cohen.
Born in Trail, BC, Ronnie was the eldest child to Antonio and Rose (nee LeRose) Bertuzzi. He enjoyed a wonderful and carefree childhood with extended family and friends that he remained close to throughout his life. After marrying the love of his life, he moved to Vancouver to complete his BA at UBC. He had a successful 40 year career in pharmaceutical sales and medical imaging. His career brought his family to Prince George, Kelowna, North Delta and back to Vancouver where he lived for over 40 years. Once retired, he enjoyed spending winters in Palm Desert and summers in Kelowna. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was always the life of the party. Ronnie loved being surrounded by his friends and family, living his life with kindness, generosity and humour. He was always the first one to lend a hand or share a laugh. He will be missed by many and remembered by anyone who was lucky enough to have caught his eye.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 29th at 1:00 pm at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish at 1430 West 38th Ave. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC in memory of Ron.
