Ronan Jay Downey-Price

Ronan Downey-Price passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 16th, 2022 at his home in the presence of both his loving parents.
Ronan graduated from Lord Nelson Elementary School in Vancouver, attended Templeton Secondary School also in Vancouver, and was currently on the honour roll in the Grade 11 Combined Studies program at Hugh Boyd Secondary School in Richmond, BC. Ronan’s interests were many; he had been involved with various sports, hobbies & other activities over his short life, and his current interests included skateboarding, jogging and weightlifting. He had held part-time jobs at A & W and Terra Tora Landscaping, and he had very recently expressed interest in one day pursuing a career in electrical engineering or as an electrician. However, anyone who knew him was aware of his developing business & finance savvy, and may not have been surprised to see him as an ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ sometime in the future.
He is survived by his mother and father, Pamela Downey and Arthur Price, as well as his grandmother Margaret Downey. He will be greatly missed by his aunts Jade, Patti, Marnie, Susie & Joanna; his uncles Shawn, Hugh, Dwight, Nathan & Craig; and all of his cousins Alex, Genna, Sigourney, Zackary, Jake, Keenan, Kate, Susan, Jeremy, Laurel, Lillian, Theo, Gracie & Callum.
In lieu of flowers or donations, please hold your child or children close, and remind them as often as you can how much you cherish them and how much they mean to you. Take them for a walk in a forest, or along a beach, or perhaps snorkelling over a coral reef, and help them appreciate the diversity and vitality of life in all its forms, because all life is precious.
Ronan loved with his whole heart. He touched many lives and was very much loved by those around him. Our greatest hope would be that even now, and forever onward, Ronan would know how much we miss his beauty, his smile, and his charisma; his kindnesses, his gregariousness and his natural ability to make friends; his youthful energy, his creativity, and his sense of humour.
Ronan, you were the best thing that ever happened to your mom & dad. We think of your life as a song, whose melody will forever linger on. We loved you deeply and we will never forget you.
There will be a celebration of Ronan’s life at a later date.

I taught Ronan when he was in kindergarten and also lived just up the street from Pam. I remember the sparkle in his eyes, his bright and curious nature and his exuberant nature. I occasionally ran into him when I was out for a walk and we often had short conversations. About a month ago we were chatting about what he wanted to do after he graduated, he was trying to find his path, and I suggested that he simply follow his interests. He seemed very surprised when I told him that I didn’t have any idea of what job I really wanted to do until I was in third year university . I was absolutely heart broken when I heard the devastating news of Ronan’s death , a young soul taken before his time. My deepest condolences to his parents. I will always have a special place in my heart to remember the young Ronan that I knew and cherished.
